Paving the Way to Health Care Access is recognized nationwide as one of the premier educational and networking events for the medical interpreter community! Interpreters, trainers, hospital administrators, program coordinators, industry leaders, and healthcare providers from New England and across the country gather for two days to share their knowledge and experience in skills development focused on both medical and behavioral health. They also discuss how federal healthcare reform, The Joint Commission standards, and other policy changes affect healthcare language services and the field of healthcare interpreting. 

The conference emphasizes the importance of trained medical interpreters as facilitators of clear communication in a patient-centered healthcare system. The Paving the Way to Health Care Access Conference supports the professional goals of interpreters and offers continued education credits. 

This continuing education event is open to those who have previously attended our medical interpreter training programs and those who work with medical interpreters:

• Medical interpreters
• Interpreter managers and coordinators
• Members of the health care team working with interpreters

Participants can choose from different workshops, each of which provides opportunities to explore specific topics and improve knowledge and skills.

CEU fees are as follows (CEU fee is non-refundable): (payment instructions will be included in your confirmation email)

• $45.00 ($41.45 plus a processing fee of $3.55) for one day
• $65.00 ($61.45 plus a processing fee of $3.55) for both days  

CCHI has approved “Paving the Way to Healthcare Access Conference 2024- 2 days of Learning for Interpreters”. This program is accredited by CEAP for 9.5 CE hours, CEAP accreditation #10435. There are 2.5 Performance Based (PB) CE hours.  

IMIA/NBCMI has approved “Paving the Way to Healthcare Access Conference 2024- 2 days of Learning for Interpreters” for a total of 8.5 contact hours = 0.85 IMIA/NBCMI CEUs. Registry ID 24-CF-1006. Please refer to workshop description document for individual session approvals.

RID Approved – “Practitioners may earn up to 0.5 Professional Studies CEUs on Friday and 0.45 Professional Studies CEUs on Saturday”.  All of the workshops are Professional Studies and none of them are PPO. 90 minutes sessions qualify for 0.15 units and 60 minutes sessions qualify for 0.1 units. 

MassRID is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for continuing education activities. CEU processing is free to RID members pending verification of attendance and submissions of the CEU request form (link will be provided during the conference).
